Enough already!

Well so much for a happy start to the New year and all that jazz. We're only a few weeks into January and poor Mike has some serious health issues to deal with :-( At our age you never know which bits of your body are going to misbehave and so off we go to yet another Doctor who specialises in the necessary prognosis and treatment. Shelley the cat and I are both OK atm but we'll be keeping our hands and paws crossed that we stay that way! Running wise I'm fine except for a few asthmatic moments running up hills and I'm looking forward to some nice trail events in the upcoming months; well, that is, if Mike is OK........I joined in the annual virtual running event I do each year. You choose the distance you want to run each day and you post your time on a forum. At the mmoment I've been doing 7 miles every day but I will change things up a bit in February and do 9 miles a day. It's a great start to the running year and gets you prepared for whichever events you want complete. A few days ago I was chatting with a lady in our village and she asked me when I was going to stop running!!! I chuckled and replied that I'll keep on running for as long as my body allows :-D So, for now, I'm busy Spring Cleaning. Yep, you heard correctly, I actually enjoy it and it makes me rethink the clutter that a hoarder like me accumulates! I admit that I did save a few things that I'd put out for the Charity Shops though! I think I need to start taking some more photos now the weather is brightening up....... Editing to add this photo taken this morning - you can't beat a cardboard box for kitties!

New year, new goals (especially to start blogging again!)

Happy belated New Year, wherever you are in the world! Here in the UK we're on a 'weather alert' for strong winds (yep), torrential rain with potential flooding (well, the river in the valley looks pretty full and both our ponds in the fields are overflowing!). So far today I've been in 'whirlwind' mode, tidying, dusting, cleaning floors vacuuming furniture, preparing meals, sorting out paperwork etc etc. Most of my chores have been aided by my partner in crime - AKA Shelley the cat. As I type this I am taking a break from Spring cleaning. Yep, I'm in Domestic Goddess mode! Don't worry though, it will soon wear off and I'll be back to normal. It's amazing how much rubbish I keep, for whatever reason, so it's good for me to be ruthless at getting rid of unnecessary stuff at least once a year. I am a natural hoarder so it's good for me to be strong and determined. OK, yes I did put a few things back again - mea culpa!!! I did try to donate my marathon running medals to a local school(250 at the last count and there are some real beauties) but the Head Teacher said she couldn't take them because they are all different and all the children must have the same gift. I can't publish what I thought about that!!! Most times now I go for a 'no medal' option as I really don't need any more medals. Happy New Year to anyone who still visits my poor lonely blog and I will try to write more than I have done recently.
